Last year was undoubtedly different from any other – surprising and full of new challenges, which we had to not only face locally, as an academic community, but also globally.

In sum, however, our Summer School and the “Explorers’ Summer” youth camp proved a great success in terms of atmosphere, learning outcomes and online class organization, and also the way in which we came together to overcome different setbacks. Our learners sailed through all of them.

The two three-week courses of the Summer School (4 July-15 August 2020) brought together 76 participants from 21 countries, who studied Polish and attended lectures on various subjects in literature, culture, grammar and social sciences. An additional attraction in the form of online sightseeing tours allowed them to feel at least some of the atmosphere of Kraków and the beautiful Lesser Poland region.
Our summer youth camp (13-24 July 2020) attracted 25 young people from 8 countries, and the agenda included Polish language classes as well as lectures on Polish customs and traditions. The elements that attracted the greatest interest were those on Saint Andrew’s Day games and fortune-telling, Christmas and Easter traditions, online sightseeing tours and pierogi workshops.
Hopefully, we will be able to meet again in Kraków in the years to come. We look forward to seeing you!
